Think of the pet as a tiny piece of product branding. A consistent shape and color story make it recognizable the moment it appears, which is exactly what you want from a mascot you will see for hours every day.

Start from a simple silhouette

From design to a running pet in Codex

Once your spritesheet and pet.json are ready, drop them into your Codex pets folder and restart the app. The pet should appear and begin its idle loop immediately.

If nothing shows, the usual cause is a folder or file name mismatch with pet.json. Verify the names, then restart Codex fully rather than just closing the window.
